Italian Setee

A few months ago, my neighbor called and said she was getting rid of a bunch of old inventory from her business and wanted to let me know it was sitting out to go to the garbage if I was interested in coming over to take a look... mmmm... heck-a yes.  I am always all over free stuff!  She had a bunch of cute jars, picture frames and aprons.  I snagged a few up and noticed an old bench just to the other side of her drive way.  It was love at first sight and I immediately had a vision of what it could be and how great it would be for pictures! So I snagged that up as well.  Fast forward a few months and I decided to tackle the job of refinishing this bench.  I started to rip up the upholstery and in my mind I kept thinking, this has some old nails in it, I wonder how old this chair is?  Then I saw Made In Italy stamped all over the inner wood.  Then I saw a date 2-8-17.  Ok, now I had to stop and do some investigating.  I ended up getting it appraised and this is what I got back from the appraiser
This is a Vintage Italian Made Settee, in the Italian Provincial Style , circa: 1915-1930, they took this style from the French Provincial Style that was so popular during this era, ( well it could be the French copied the Italians, ) the Settee ( recovered ) has an estimated value on the secondary retail market for an of average of $500.00-800.00, depending on the condition and where it is for sale at.
WHAT THE WHAT?!  I was shocked!!!  I wondered if I should sell and make some money off of it, but I think I rather keep it for the story is has instead.  Plus I like saying I have an Italian Settee.  So... I introduce to you... my Italian Settee! After photos to come!
